PurpleLight 2014

Tens  of people of our local community  participated in  PurpleLight  event. PurpleLight events raise awareness about the critical mission of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and give local residents the opportunity to help make strides toward a better future. I was invited to photograph this event  and I was impressed by the strength and unity of these people united by a common grief. How brave they are, how supportive they are, how beautiful they are, how full of love and life they are! These are the people who know real value of every minute they spend next to their loved ones. Team spirit  was evident everywhere with the t-shirts they made, signs and purple beads.Pancreatic cancer has the lowest relative survival rate of any major cancer. and with only two percent of the National Cancer annual budget dedicated to pancreatic cancer research. However there were 3 survivors and they were giving  the  HOPE to those who needed it more then anything.
I couldn't take my eyes off these beautiful children. Their parents were working as volunteers making this event possible or came to support family member or family friend. And I am sure these kids will know what real love and sympathy is from little up.
